Maki Rinka sings the original songs such as the soundtrack of 1950’s and 60’s cinema and sings the cover of old jazz standard songs and broadway musical songs. She mainly sings at a bar, a café and a live house in Osaka and Tokyo. She writes her original lyrics and makes melodies herself.
She writes words in Japanese and English, sometimes Russian.
The concept of her performance is ‘’ CABARET ENTERTAINMENT SHOW with a piano’’ and she acts the world of her lyrics like an actress in her performance.
She released 2 albums ‘’Manechika’’ and ‘’ Cinematica’’ and her albums caught great support from record shops in Japan and recorded good sales.
In January 2005, She succeeded organizing her event ‘’ CABARET POPEROTICA’’ in the cabaret in Tokyo and Osaka, and in 2006 she succeeded singing in the Jazz swing dance event ‘’Tokyo Swing’’ in the cabaret in Shinjuku, Kabuki-cho. She participated in the European tour of the band, Degurutieni, for the first time in September 2007 and now she is keeping playing an active part globally.

This is her first album which is composed with a pianist, Sachiko Ishitobi. Maki Rinka expresses her imaginary stories with an old ragtime piano. This album is made by a very nostalgic sound such as an old record. The album title ‘’ Manechika’’ is the word she made, she made the word mixing a word of Japanese and Russian. This album has 5 original songs and a cover of ‘’ Bye Bye Baby’’ which is sung by Marilyn Monroe in the movie of ‘’ Gentlemen Prefer Blonds’’.
