Clive Parkinson is the Director of Arts for Well being at Manchester Metropolitan College; the UK’s longest established arts and well being unit. The expanded programme will run for 2 years from October 2017 involving over 800 older individuals and 800 volunteers. The programme recognises the significance of digital expertise and its potential to deal with some of our largest social challenges and the 2018 funding programme will aim to assist 12 not-for-revenue organisations to develop their digital products or services.
This sensible workshop will introduce participants to a few of the practicalities of arts and well being work: the ideas of fine practice, the importance of a partnership method and tips on how to set up an arts and well being project. Over 2016/17 he is growing the festival, ANXIOUSNESS 2017 with the College of New South Wales and the Australian Centre for Arts & Well being.
As work on this area has grown, so understanding and measuring of its impact has grown and there are now a variety of lecturers across the country (and world) investigating the impact that the arts have on well being.
