WHAT, in partnership with Garter Lane Arts Centre and Waterford Metropolis and County Libraries, presents the annual Well Pageant of Arts & Wellbeing, which champions the health benefits of participation in the arts by everyone. Working with colleagues in Finland, Estonia and Spain he is creating multi-skilled approaches to arts and well being teaching with a selected emphasis on collaboration between social work and the arts in relationship to youngsters and younger folks at risk. International Alliance members receive a subscription to Arts & Well being as good thing about membership.
Once I advised her about our subject of research and practice, and our belief that culture and the humanities in all their varieties, shouldn’t be the only real protect of the nice and the good – she dedicated herself to being a part of this agenda. I’m very excited to announce that the brilliant Maxine Peake shall be contributing to our follow-up occasion to the Creative Health launch which we held on the Manchester College of Artwork in July.
Research within the field of arts, well being and wellbeing has developed significantly in recent years, and in the dialogue of this e-book some of the large questions for the agenda are addressed. Her analysis focuses on the results of arts participation on neuroendocrine and immune response, the use of the arts inside clinical settings and the psychosocial impression of cultural engagement at an individual and public health level.
There isn’t any single cross-Authorities technique of help for this work – alongside funding from Arts Council England and other government bodies, projects are largely run by charities and personal organisations. ACAH is an organisation with excellent worldwide connections and stands alongside peak our bodies within the UK (Nationwide Alliance for Arts, Health and Wellbeing); EU (Long Live Arts); USA (Nationwide Organisation for Arts Well being, Nationwide Center for Artistic Ageing); Canada (Arts Well being Community Canada).
Dr Daisy Fancourt is a Wellcome Research Fellow within the Department of Behavioural Science and Health, College Faculty London. The £2.3 million expansion of Dance to Health was officially launched on Thursday 5th October 2017 on the Great Corridor, St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London.
